Well I don't know.. it's nice you know, and modern, and beautiful, and comfortable, and design team was led by the engineer who designed the 928, and is now affordable, and anywhere you go in it it gets accolade and comments on how nice it is... but I'd perfer my 79' 928 because...
Ha! I couldn't finish the sentence! Gorgeous! A silver and black interior is on my list.
Sweet... sweet car. I know a guy who has a black one that according to him has been very reliable.

Seems I am in the minority here
For the kind of cash they command here, I would be in a 996GT3 all day long - form follows function... While the Aston is stunningly beautiful to look at, in all other departments in standard trim is all a bit meh...
Now, a Vanquish S is a whole different ball game as you 'mericans like to say... But it also costs double at least...

The problem as I see it is that the Vantage is still a big car with a far to small interior. Same problem even more so with the Bentley CGT. Both are still expensive (the B more so of course). I think Chuck has it right... The DB-9 is the new 928!
All that said, even at $80k you could have a VERY NICE condition 928 COLLECTION that includes EACH of the four body styles... OB, S, S4 and GTS (not a SUPER NICE GTS, but a DAMN nice GTS even at that!) and probably still have a few bucks left over... Lets see $40k gets you a HELL OF A NICE GTS, $20k and you are in one of the nicest S4's money can buy, $15k gets you a really, really nice S and $12k gets you an OB to die for! Ok, so I went over a bit... Fudge the GTS to $35k for a really nice driver with 85k miles and the S4 to a BETTER THAN AVERAGE driver at $15k and you are money in the black for maintenance!
Once you do that, if you still need something newer and exotic and gorgeous... Think Maserati GranTurismo! I see my neighbor drive by in theirs all the time and takes my breath away EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT!!!!
Edit: This is a pic of my neighbors car from quite a way off taken with my iPhone, but damn I LOVE THIS CAR!

LOL! They should! Every time I see them or roll out in to the middle of the road to STOP them I ask if they are taking good care of my car!!! LOL! That pic is terrible, but man is it one beautiful car!! If you have not driven one they are really sweet to drive too and there is actually a TON of room in the back seats AND the trunk! Just amazing! It looks smaller than the chunky Bentley CGT, but it has TONS more room inside that the B-CGT has! No comparison AT ALL and it feels just as fast and refined too I might add!

The V8 Vantage is a beautiful car, but it's performance is a bit underwhelming for a modern exotic two seater at that price.
I agree 100% with the comment above about the Vanquish. I wouldn't sell my 4200 Maserati to buy a Vantage, but I'm seriously thinking about trading it up for a Vanquish at some point.
James, you've been drooling over the Gran Turismo for quite a while. I agree it's a beautiful car. You have enough 928 equity built up that you could easily trade one or two of your 928s for a Maserati GT...
