air pump delete when Porken T-belt tensioner is prev. fitted
I like the Porken tensioner on my '92 ROW GTS. Now i want to punt the air pump. One of the bracket bolts on the Porken tensioner goes through a significant drilled mounting ear cast in the air pump. Can I replace this ear with a substantial steel sleeve (like a sized pipe nipple or drilled aluminum round stock plain end with correct length) or will this be insufficiently rigid for the Porken T-belt tensioner bracket setup?
Thanks for your insight.

Not 100% sure what you're asking, I'll have to glance at a pic of the pump install which I don't have access to at yhe moment. I don't know if you sre aware but there are 2 options for PK tensioner brackets, one with the mounting arm for the air pump, and one designed for yhe pump delete.

I punted the airpump after is started screeching/siezing. Also have the PKTensioner. Just unbolt the bracket that holds the airpump and remove the long pivot bolt. It's a bit packed in there but you can loosen the AC compressor and move it down so you can unbolt the pump. I had to use a shorter bolt for the AC bracket (that previously held the airpump lower bracket).

Okay, I think I remember how I did the delete on mine. You can remove the pump and the forward arm from the PKT. The forward arm is held on be a single bolt which you simply remove. The tensioner arm on the air pump has a spacer between the threaded tensioner and the tensioner arm. The holding bolt passes through the threaded tensioner the spacer the tensioner arm and then tightens into the pump body. You will remove all of these tensioner components. You then use the spacer removed from the air pump tensioner down at the engine block where the tensioner arm was removed. This spacer will account for the removal of the tensioner arm and allow you to reuse the original bolt at the engine end where the mount for the AC tensioner arm is located. This will allow the use of the original bolt as well as keep the AC tension arm lined up in the correct position.
