Default injector leak

1986
Rebuilt my fuel injectors.
Passenger side is fine, drivers side are leaking at the upper
o-ring where they go into the rail.
Kind of upsetting, its my first start-up after TB/WP/MM/Blue hose/....etc.
It did start though, that's the good thing.
Now just to keep from burning it up.
Any ideas?

Replace the O-rings and put a little grease on them to aid in the installation of them to the rail.

They're brand new.
I used silicone grease on them.
Already took it apart and removed and re-installed.
Still leaking.
I can see fuel running down the injectors, 2 of them that I can see.(front 2)

if your fuel rail is in good condition then i would say you have bad injectors its not unheard of to have leaking injectors they usually leak at on of the plastic body seals.
this is one case where swapping in a different set
IE maker of injectors might be a good idea.
It will only take one errant spark from an old ignition wire and some fuel to spark a fire under your hood.

NEED MORE info about you rebuilding them,
and then you mentioning that they are new,
these dont add up .
Where did you buy them?
do the injectors have the clips on the tops to hold them in place?
if the clips are missing then they can slide down into the manifold and leak.
You may also have the incorrect O rings installed

The injectors are not new, the O-rings are new.
Got the kit from Roger.
There were 8 extra O-rings in the kit but they looked identical.

I've had to polish with 1000 paper, then rinse with light oil and wipe dry, then grease, for seating.

Thank you.

^^^ What Stan said.

Are the clips in place and properly fitted to the rail?

If not, the top of the injectors may not be pushed far enough into the rail to seal properly.

Yes, have the clips and double checked.

Grease may not be the best lubricant for the o-rings. They do need to be lubricated to slide in without galling or rolling, but grease might give you a temporary seal that will wash out with continuous fuel exposure. I use a dedicated-purpose seal lubricant. You can use silicone spray in a pinch. The Most Important thing to remember is that the o-ring will seal to a perfectly smooth surface, so dirt/crud/debris/deposits in the injector groove are dangerous. The rail most be clean and free of all corrosion and pitting where the o-rings live. For sure don't drive it at all unill all the leaks are fixed; it doesn't take a spark to start a fire. All you need is a spray of fuel onto hot exhaust.

Took em off, cleaned them up changed O-rings......still leaking.
But this time I was able to see fuel bubbles coming from where the
plastic upper part of the injector meets the metal part.
Noticed it on 3 others also.

If those are the 'rebuilt" ones, give them back to the seller with with picture documentation of the leakage. Gotta wonder how they were tested after 'rebuilding' and a body leak wasn't noticed.
