Does putting the muffler there add more drone sound to the cabin?

It is a resonator to control drone, the cars use the same rear final mufflers just no cat...Porsche tunes the exhaust note always has, always will...

Thanks JB. Anybody know it's dimensions?
I may install an aftermarket as we don't do cats here. If it interferes with 2-piece bellhousing removal, then I'll pass.

Dimenstions are very close to same as catalytic converter. Its direct replacement without changing anything else other than O2 sensor and air pump setup.

Note taken. When I swap in the 6.0L I'll take pics of the full 3" exhaust with the Sanderson headers to clear the 2-piece BH. I was able to change the clutch in the 948 without having to drop the exhaust.

Thks for the comments, it is a right hand drive one and I am located in Hong Kong. Base on your replies, now I know that it is more like a muffler and that's good because I want to remove the air pump belt forever. I guess that it is a stock setup because the last owners always had the car serviced in the dealer and I just passed the local MOT test 2 weeks ago.

Get someone to weld in an O2 sensor bung, add O2 sensor, change the coding plug to a Cat/O2.
It will greatly improve your fuel economy, and optimize performance.

Great info. like to do that. did you do it yet Phil928?
Would you provide me more information in details please? Here in Hong Kong, gas is expensive due to the government tax. It costs me USD 130 to fill up a full tank from empty. It can run about 350km (city driving). Cheers.
