Why do you think you need to do that? Any symptoms causing concern?

If they're not clogged, meaning all your cylinder are getting fuel and firing... then you're onlt concern would be the quality of the spray pattern.

Did the PO replace the rubber injector seals?

This is a list of work done by the PO per his listing

plugs, cap, rotor, green wire
- radiator hoses
- air hoses, all of 'em
- air distributor
- brakes, rotors, pads, brake lines (now stainless)
- rekeyed to match ignition key
- short shifter
- 928 motorsports front ball cup
- re-bushed the rear shift linkage
- new kumho tires all around
- new h4 headlamps
- spray painted the key marks (you do know you have to paint this car!)
- brand new WUR with perfect pressures
- new filters
- new engine bay and rear fuel lines
- good fuel tank and new strainer
- new fuel pump
- new grommets on the brake reservoir and booster
- new intake runner gaskets
- new water tower gaskets and seal
- new f.i. wiring harness and connectors

There is a small fuel leak at the WUR and it seems to hit a wall at 5000 rpm.

Man, you should be good to go. If you're getting good cold/warm starts, no misfiring, it's just a matter of checking the tune. The wur is the usual culprit, followed by the fuel distributer, and then maybe a weak pump or clogged filters/lines. That all sounds like it's fresh. Berrymans with a fresh tank then drive the **** out of it. Right after you get all that bee-yoo-tee-full interior done. Cheers!

Thanks Jim and Mike. I think maybe I just spend too much time on the forum. If this were a health forum I would be self diagnosing brain cancer or something.haha

I was really torn about dying the GTS shifter. It was brand new, perfect black.
Here are the results after two coats. The console in the picture is not the one that will end being re-installed, but since I had it I thought I would go ahead and dye it in case I had a hold up at the upholstry shop.

Things might slow down a bit now. I got engaged last weekend so budgets and timelines have shifted accordingly.

Brian! 1st of all, congratulations on the engagement. You got a great gal there!

Secondly, I do not know how I missed this thread....sorry I did not chime in sooner....that interior work is fantastic! I am jealous. That is my favorite interior color, matched with a white exterior...perhaps my next one...lol...

The steering wheel is cool...I like the one you posted as the 2nd choice!

The fuel injectors are mega easy....the fuel filters in the CIS fuel distributor might need attention...I was surprised at how funky they get, and they are sooooo tiny....anyway, give me a call if you want to discuss....I went with the MBZ injectors, and it was a breeze...the guy has a couple sets available...can't beat 60$ for all 8! I am free this eve. If you want to call.

Thanks Ron!! I took a look at the parts car and discovered the CIS is still in it. Not all of the injectors are there, but I will probably just shelve that idea until I have the interior put back together and run a couple of tanks of gas through it. I may not have any issues at all. When I get to that point I will need to purchase a air/fuel meter before I know much of anything. It ran good last summer. The only issues I had/have are no 5th gear and the occasional stall at a stop light. It always cranks right back up but I need to discover what the issue is and then figure out what needs to be done.

I would suggest that you could swap out my trans for me while I am on my honeymoon......however, I might need to address that issue before the wedding. SITM in May, wedding in August (ish).?.?.?

Hmmm, perhaps I could do so...lol...

SITM is usually what..the first weekend in June, Right?

That would make it the 1st/2nd....I have heard nothing about it...I tried to call DR several times, and all I get is a machine...I left messages...

Did you check the front ball cup / rear linkage...I heard they can be a contributor to the gear issues...mine needs the front cup...I have it strapped onto the front ball right now....I want the lizard shifter, but I keep buying other parts for some reason...

Progress has been very slow lately. Between getting engaged, house hunting, improved business and crappy weather, spare time has been at a premium. I dove back in this week and started taking measurements for the tool tray replacement. In doing so I realized that I had not pulled the leather trim for the hatch So now the only thing left to pull is the headliner. When I started this project I had zero expectation of doing any of those pcs. The door panels and the qtrs looked so bad that the headliner and trim looked pretty good in comparison. Well, now that the doors and qtrs look so good.......you guessed it, everything must come out. It is no extra expense but a lot of extra time and effort.

Updating has been slow, but progress has been made nonetheless. The headliner had three tears that I have trimmed, sealed, sanded and now the second coat of dye. I will have at least one more coat before I am ready to start putting this thing back together. With SITM right around the corner, I basically have two months to re-install the dyed items, recover seats (kit on way), design and build rear seat delete, design and build a tool tray replacement, install new stereo system, install newly recovered dash and pod, purchase new tires for the 15" phonedials and swap out to correct rear hatch. After all this I hope she runs good enough for the trip. My hopes of a trans swap before the trip is slipping away.

(In the last picture the dye is still wet)

It is decision time on the OB. I have had two different schemes in mind. I have two different sets of wheels and I will tint the windows differently depending on which wheels I choose.
If I keep the black Cup wheels, I will black the windows out.
BUT I picked up a set of 15" Gold phone dials that I like a lot. The interior of the car is a carmel color and I have considered a light bronze tint and paint the phonies a hammered bronze.

I am spending so much time and money on the interior that I would like to see a little of it with all the doors closed but after removing the S4 rear wing and painting the new to me hatch a flat black I really like the sleek blacked out look.

I need to make a decision so that I can do one or the other this weekend.
Any ideas on these two choices or pros vs cons would be appreciated.

Thanks

I re-installed the headliner and some little trim bits and pcs. I was very unhappy with the headliners appearance with the rear hatch up. It looks great from the rear view mirror. Looks ok from the rear seat area (looking up) but looks like total crap from the rear bumper. It was very frustrating to spend so much time filling, sanding, filling, sanding and then dyeing....only to have a sag in the back.

I had replaced all of the buttons/tabs on the back, which really helped on the sides. The front has the visors to help it out but the rear only has one tab to hold it up. I had taken Stan's advice and bought a good qty of Weldwood adhesive and thought it might hold IF I could get enough upward pressure AND hold it long enough to set. Here is my contraption.
I will check on it tomorrow after work.
