Default great in rain and snow!

Rained this morning and surprised by snow on the way home. Wasn't sticking but slick! Kumhos on 18s with 225 and 265 were very nice!

Handled better than my dads old RWD Infiniti G35.

Put some Blizzak winter tires on it and remove the front spoiler (unless you are plowing driveways as a side job) and you can just about go anywhere.

Last year was the first year I've had dedicated snow tires on a vehicle. I'll never go another winter without. The difference is huge. In snow and just as much in cold and wet. Michelin Alpins last year, Blizzaks this year. Different cars (both Lexus ES's), but equal improvement.

Excellent. I ran a few autocrosses in the pouring rain when my car did extremely well.

There is something to be said for 50/50 weight distribution, a wide stance, and RWD

I have a DD for snow. Too many idiot drovers and the DD is a damn sporty ride for FWD.

Drove my 928 through a hellish snowstorm to get home for Xmas and my parents. My front spoiler ate so much snow! My car is not as tall as a semi. The compacted ice I had to skate on was even worse street tires suck! However I kept up with AWD volvos and when the rear started to slide I simply corrected for it and got back on track. Something to say for 50/50 weight distribution and excellent brakes. *shrug*

Winter tires are an absolute must on snow, the difference is unbelievable. Problematic are all the others around you without (my experience in Texas when we had snow).....

Best winter car I have ever driven was friends '81 S automatic before it was decomissioned to track duty after 6 winters. With studded Nokian tires it could climb up a tree if needed, heater gave hot air almost immediatelly and engine stayed warm when parked for hours once it got properly hot. It once stayed outside almost whole winter with more than feet of snow on top of it. Started at first crank. If it had manual gearbox, LSD and heated seats it would have been perfect except for 20L/100km fuel consumption.

Love my Blizzaks on my Jetta Sportwagen. I thought about it for a while getting winter wheels and bilzzaks for the 928 but the damage the salt would do to the metal underneath was too much to bear.

+1 for blizzaks. Had a pair on my audi last winter, but swapped them out for some all-weathers in the spring. Haven't swapped back yet and the difference is night and day.
