Default Cheap air box strap repair

By detaching the long metal piece on the end and flipping it over, I think I may have given this new life.

As an added bonus, due to 25+ years of being bent in the other direction, they now instinctively rest on the cowl cover instead of falling into my way repeatedly.

Not quite as ghetto as fixing the rear hatch release by wrapping zip ties around the cam, but certainly as satisfying.

Sorry - I don't consider this ghetto at all - if you don't need this now - you will later... a built in failure just waiting to happen...

I'd recommend more zip ties (4-5 mini's), smooth sides out and triming the ends off - When installed back in the car - you'd be hard pressed to know they were there - even if you know what you are looking at - Oh except that now the hatch release works...!

The Onion got the hand me downs from the Blue '85 when I replace them w/ new. So I cut up some fuel hose scraps (too short to use) and place them behind the Airbox, works well on old straps and holds tight, you could also zip tie them to the straps, but they do stay in place.

Nice Picture davek9, but where is your Cowl Cover. Do you need a new one from me? And with a Cowl Seal also?
