Default broken driver window

A friend had his '84 broken into and stereo stolen. The thieves used a big rock (left it on driver seat) He bought a new glass and brought it over for help installing. As I have not done this before are there any tricks or things to avoid? Of course it was also raining so driver panel was very wet and some of the forward bottom had fallen off. This has been repaired, but still need to repair arm rest. I guess as they leaned in they used as leverage and broke it off. He also has new guides for the window but am not sure of installation. Any help is appreciated.

the shop manual has a good write up, however I found u do not need to remove the motor, just run the window up 1/2? Way to be able to access the 4 bolts mark them to ease alignment.

Thank you for the replies 9two8 and davek9. Window is in and both sides have new guides and felts and is off for tinting while I rebuild the driver and passenger door panels.
