I'm looking for some advice on wheels. I have an 86.5 with three good an now one cracked BBS RS's (8.5" front and 9.5" rear). I have always had 16's and now i am looking at 18's. the wheels i found are 18x8.5 for the front fitted with 235's and the rears are 10" 275's. the seller says they will fit. I have never put this much tire on the car before.
If you search for the Rennlister AO (Andrew Olson) you will find a wheel fitment calculator in his signature. I plugged in your wheel specifics and the spreadsheet says your front wheels/tires will stick out 0.5 mm beyond the fender.
Question is whether or not these wheels and tires will fit.
Any feed back is appreciated. Thanks
On the front of my 89S4 - 18" Cayman rims, 57mm ET, 235/40/18 Michelin PilotSports rub on the wheel arch portion of the side molding when on lock.
Given how little clearance there is to the top of the wheel arch, I would be concerned about contact there with 52mm offset against the 57mm that I have.
Also, the rear wheel arches on the same car needed massaging to clear 265/40/18 on a rim with 53mm ET.
I think Porken had similar issues at the front, and went to a 225/35/18 to solve it.

Reason: Spelling
For 8.5" fronts I have seen 56mm being used with 225 tire. Looks stupid but doesn't rub with agressive camper adjustment. On looks alone I wouldn't use them, let alone 52mm.
