Default JP's Tow Eye Thread Tap Tool - European Tour Details

See the other thread on this for the USA List. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...eferrerid=6055

We are getting towards the end of that list (if you are in the US and want to be added go there). The US list will take a few months to close out (maybe a bit more...).

However we have at least one request already for tool use in Finland. Rather than send this back & forth internationally I'm considering how much interest there would be - then maybe the tool could spend some time doing the rounds in Europe to save transit time & costs.

Probably start out in Scandinavia then maybe Germany/France Benelux, then maybe UK - who else where else?

I'll be looking for a few well established locals to help out with the list coordination and 'local' shipping. Deposit/rental charges cover costs - its a time thing.

Any volunteers for that?

AND

Who wants to be on the list? Its a show of interest at this point...?

Not sure if you need it? - see if you can remove your front towing eye bung now - before you actually need it in an emergency...!

Alan

I need to test my front tow eye, not sure. The rear one I need to drill the cap off. I could gauge interest on the German forum if needed. There was a inquiry there some months ago about a tap for this.

Aryan

Yes - please do check for local interest (also Benelux/France owners you collectively may know...) - won't be for a while yet - but these issues have probably been sitting like this for years...

Was thinking the PFF 928 forum would be great - aber, mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut I e-mailed Heiko, the organizer for the upcoming Sharktreffen im Hunsrück in Mai to see if there's interest.

Tried my tow-eye this morning; could only get it in 1 turn.

When planning, the best option is to have the tool make a tour within the European Union, thus eliminating having to pass Customs.

Aryan - yes understood - spent more than half my life in Europe so not news to me - but certainly important.

I'm surprised there is not more European interest - is the PFF forum purely German language users?
do you have any French contacts...?

Yes PFF is a German forum.

I don't know any French owners, but we might pm Froggy Shark. He is in France and might post it on their forum.

I would definitely be interested if it makes its way to Sweden.

It will go to Finland first (that was the first request). So Sweden second would make a lot of sense - can you check around and see if there are others in Sweden with a need...?

German owners generally don't seem to fix their cars themselves. You must be be heer doktor there just to change the wheels.

Err - none I guess...! Michael are you the only other German guy wrenching on your own car?... is that why they sent you off to Spain...?

Seriously the Tow Eye Tap's tour around the USA seems to be about done - I expect it back soon and can probably ship it off in the next week or so.

Erkka - Can you host the tap first in Finland? - would a group get together work out? - or will it need to be shipped around? Pekka (Pevi) was interested for sure previously in Finland.

Would you also be willing to send it to Sweden for Ben. Can you put the word out for any additional users in Scandinavia via whatever local means you have... . (BTW any customs issues with Norway since its not a true EU member?).

The general idea here is that whoever hosts it figures out shipping & payments to cover their costs (this will vary).

Aryan - would you be willing to host it in Germany?

I will ask the UK guys and French guys on their forums and look for a hosting coordinator there too.

More logistics to cover US shipments & back and inter-country between hosts - but lets get the list populated.

Alan
