I am sitting here wondering why people who are haters feel the need to post on this thread. It clearly asks for people who have done it to comment. It doesnt ask for anyone's opinion as to whether or not they approve. We already know how people feel.

Alan, if you dont want to read about people who have put a SBC into a 928, then maybe this thread isnt for you. Go read a different one ok? Nothing personal, but seriously... I am not going to stop asking questions just because you don't like it. sorry.

that being said, I see some good responses. What other typical issues are there?

furthermore, regardless of how much negativity I receive here, I am not going anywhere. And since I don't break any forum rules, get used to me. I am still a little perplexed as to how some of you post on here as if you are the leading most authorities on what is right and wrong to do to a car other than your own.

I am shopping for Ferarris right now. I see an F355 in my near future. If I could find one without an engine and put a SBC in that I would consider it.

You already had that thread - people told you they had done it - keep it there - just stop creating all these crazy threads...
I don't care what you do with the car - I already said that. I have no religion on this issue.

Just the reality check - its not that cheap, and its not that easy - thats all. How do I know? - I've been here a long time and seen a lot.

There are lots of people on rennlist who have tried to help you, more who can help you, and many that you will need to have help you in the future.

Don't **** them all off... You can find most of what you have asked by just searching and reading the archives - as I think Jim Bailey said - READ MORE - POST LESS.

Jim is a smart guy.

Yes I could just put you on ignore... you might think that is a good idea - you'd probably be wrong.

I am not sure why you would put me on ignore exactly. Because I want to put a chevy in a 928? I just do not understand some of the opinions I read on here. I value all of the help I get on here... but it wont kill me if you guys for some reason want to ignore me over my choice of engines. I can always just pay someone to build it for me. I work on my carts because it relaxes me, not because I have to.

I find it also interesting that there are a good deal of people on here who actually are fans of the SBC conversion, but they chose to contact me via PM instead of in the open. Apparently they dont want to express their opinions to be scrutinized. Personally, I have gotten where I have in life by not being intimidated to do what I want to do. Since I am not hurting anyone, I dont see why anyone would have an issue with it.

ledee416, seriously, do you have a west coast cousin on here by the name of RPetty2? Neither of you seem to be able to extract value from the threads you start.... just saying

As for asking people in the forum if they have or haven't... you already have asked and many haven't.

Those who have are accessible via Private Message - if they are inclined to talk to you.

You really need to work on your reading comprehension. Quit starting a thread for every question your ADD mind picks out, stick to one and you will get more help. There are very few people who actually give a **** about what you do with your car, what we give a **** about is not cluttering up a forum we all spend a lot of time on, helping others who will actually listen. Continuing on the path you've been on for the past few weeks will ensure you will not get the help you need, when you need it later down the line.

I had to laugh at your comment in another thread about the vendors taking every last cent out of your wallet, then you post in another thread about getting a Ferrari. Laughable.

The difference between you and them, is you think theyre hatin'.

Were just having fun on a 928 forum.

Generally, non 928 content is frowned upon, but this is all [seriously] in good fun.

Not much help to be had in a dedicated forum ANYWHERE when you want help with some change that is no longer relevant to the dedicated forum you are asking questions in.

We'd all still buy you a beer, FWIW, even with a chubby under the hood.

what exactly is laughable about that? Do you find it funny that I like to save money? or is it funny that I make enough money to buy a Ferrari? I am puzzled at some of the posts I see on here. When exactly am I not listening? When I ask a question relevant to a problem I have with my car, I diligently listen to those who have proven to be helpful. Had I not, my 1980 US probably wouldnt be running right now. And, I might add, as soon as the help I received worked, I promptly thanked those who gave it to me.

It seems to me that some of the individuals on this forum for some reason or another feel as if they have some sort of entitlement to determine who and what gets to be posted. Last I checked, my posts are well within the guidelines of this forum. they are not offensive, or argumentative. or in any way threatening to anyone.

The funny part of it all is that in my PM's there are people who tell me that certain members I will keep nameless ( but are quite often the ones who complain the most about my posts), havent a clue about what they are talking about, and simply are regurgitating things they have read elsewhere.

I may be many things, but my posts are legit, and honest. If you dont like what I post, dont read them.

No I'd love it if you would do a good job of putting a chevy motor in a 928 and document it and share what you learned along ther way with everyone.

I already said (twice) that I don't care what you do with your 928 - but you didn't seem to comprehend that I actually meant that.

Its not the topic at all - its the frantic post after post without thinking & researching a bit on your own. The maintenance level is just too high...

I'm not telling you have to stop or are breaking the written rules - I'm suggesting its in your best interests to tone it down... before everyone tunes out...

If you read what I actually said - its what I actually meant.
