Default Front bumper?

Can anybody tell me if I could bolt up a front bumper from a 91 to an 84 928?

It may bolt up, but attaching the lights is another story.

I believe I was told there is a spot on the new bumpers that does not cover the way the older ones do.

The S4 bumper goes all the way to the front tires on the lower 1/2. The fender of the early car will not allow it to fit w/o a bunch of work.

To Sean's point, IMHO it would be easier to trim the plastic bumper cover to fit the metal fenders, rather than vice a versa. The picture from the UK shows the bumper in original condition.

Here is my previous "BLACKY", it was a 83

You mean bumper cover. I was referring to the actual aluminium bumper under the cover.

You are very correct Colin, thanks for the clarification. The aluminum bumper, beneath the cover had to be trimmed quite a bit on the corners. IIRC the corners were rounded off as much as an 1 1/2" in order to accommodate the newer cover.

Thanks for the info, I really don't care for the expensive front spoiler that seems like they are always damaged. I also wonder if the clearance to the ground is the same since I park in an underground parking garage. My spoiler is missing and I still hear the front end scrap going down the ramp.

HKp7 - with original shocks and springs it is very likely that your car is well below the factory spec. I would measure your actual ride height. Many here like their cars lowered below factory, but with mine at factory I generally have pretty good clearance.

I've always wondered what a 928 would look like with the S4 rear cover and S spoilers. Might not look good, but it would be interesting to see. I personally like the S spoilers better than the S4 rear spoiler.

Lightbulb banging the nose

If your shark is banging the nose, BY ALL MEANS CHECK THE RIDE HIGHT!!! A lot of pricy things that hang down under there. ALSO look into getting a set of "skuff plates" for it. 928intl or 928sRus will have them for about $85.00. Thick aluninium plates that bolt in under the nose. I had to cut them to fit my '83. But now when I hear "SCRAPPPPE" it's just the skuff plates, not the alternator, a.c pump etc. I still grit my teeth when I hear that noise, but at least I'm not tearing parts off!!!
