"Weird Science" in my driveway
This idea suddenly popped into my head a couple months ago as my wife was driving me to the airport on my way to get the 928 I had just purchased on eBay.
I realized that once I got the car home I would have the necessary ingredients for a little tribute to the scene in Weird Science where the Porsche and Ferrari are shown together:
Well on Friday the weather was beautiful and I had the day off, so I finally gave it a try. Admittedly the S4 and 355F1 are newer models than the cars in the film, but I think it came out all right:
(that's not my real license plate by the way...)

Great photo remake Allen! I remember that movie.. and Risky Business where the 928 cars were the highlight.

Very cool... I never knew how much that film influenced my 16-year-old self until I saw it again. Of course, being the spitting image of Anthony Michael Hall at that age didn't hurt much either. Now I just have to go to the garage to be back in that magic time.

Drew, great pic! I never did my hair that way but I did wear Eighties fashions like skinny ties and jackets with rolled up sleeves.
I'm surprised I also never heard of Middle Age Crazy. Anyone know if it's available? I just tried Amazon, eBay, and Netflix with no success...
The original owner only had her for six months and 4000 miles when I bought her in October 1999. I was on my way to Fry's when I saw her in the Stanford European lot and the color (Grigio Titanio) caught my eye. It was a bit of a stretch (took me nine years to pay off the loan) but I really like the 355, the last Ferrari model that still looks like the ones on the dorm room posters I grew up with. The 355 is also the model with the most Formula One-like shriek, something to do with the header design as well as the flat plane crank and 8500 rpm redline. On top of that she also has the best smelling leather of any car I've owned.
Here's another angle of both cars:

Allen, great pics! Enjoy both of them in good health!
A good friend of mine just picked up a silver (not sure which one though) 360 Modena yesterday. It has many of the CS mods on it and 16k miles. Very nice car! LOUD exhaust and FAST! He traded his '04 GT3 (911) in on it and then added more than the trade in amount to the total to get the F-car. Saw it tonight... Quite a bit faster than my '95 GTS compared to his old GT3 which was only marginally faster actually. My '95 is no slouch though and with a cam upgrade and tuning I bet the '95 could hang with him... Oh, his Modena is a '01 model, but with the proper '02 upgrades (along w/ the CS stuff).

It had to be a Porsche, it's in the song.
Today, he traded his big 98 Oldsmobile.
He got a heck of a deal, on a new Porsche car.

To be honest I should probably mention the down side of the 355. Like the 928, it requires regular cam belts changes (Ferrari recommends every three years).
But to do it, the entire drivetrain has to come out! Here's mine being done:
Most other models can be done without engine removal. Oh well, at least my Ferrari experience makes Porsche parts seem reasonably priced in comparison.
Check out this bad boy for example (a transmission part which I will hopefully never need to replace):
