Relay broke off in board... best way to remove?
one of the blades from a relay broke off inside the board on my 80 US. the relay was totally corroded and literally crumbled in my hand when I tried to remove it. All of the blades came out except for one. it is in there pretty good. I tried using needle nose pliers... not enough bite.
any suggestions?

1) Disconnect the battery (you did already right.. always disconnect the battery before ANY electrical work)
2) Unscrew the Central Electric (relay/fuse) board
3) Tip it forward - leave the wires all connected
4) Locate the right relay..terminal
5) Push the relay blade out using a mechanics pic on the blade end - just a little
6) Grab it with the pliers from the front (not needle nose - square ended - pref parallel pliers).
7) Use a contact cleaner like de-oxit on the connectors and relay terminals before reassembly

I tried that. it is difficult to get to the relay from the back because of all of the wires that are criss crossed and over lapping the area. That makes it very hard to access unless I start undoing wires, which i am hesitant to do.

+1 to Alan's suggestion. Use the finest rigid rod you have to thread through the wire mess.
Maybe use De-Oxit first to cut through the corrosion before you start poking.
