16V shorty headers. Wanted or no?

I am also very interested...I have the standard MSDS headers into a 3" Y pipe, resonator and magnaflow muffler. I love the aggressive sound but HATE working around the lower bell housing area. The headers really make it difficult to work in that area...

It is the design of the headers and Y pipe that causes these issues and it doesn't have to be the case. On the setup I designed 7 or so years ago I can access the clutch housing without removing the exhaust. It has to do with how much time was put into the planning of the design and how much effort the manufacturer wants to go to to make your part, it doesn't have anything to do with the length of the headers.

Well maybe we are saying the same thing but...my current headers cover 4 of the 6 bolts of the lower bell housing... The only way to completely remove the lower bell housing is to completely remove one header and loosen the other...

Note: the custom exhaust that was designed does not interfere...
