Default K10 transmission spring install

After searching through rennlist I cannot find a thread regarding the install of the K10 transmission spring to fix my flare issue! If somebody could link me to a thread ( I’m sure there’s one on here somewhere) I would greatly appreciate it!

You're not finding anything because it's called a K1 spring. With the valve body in place in the transmission, the spring is located on the driver's side, facing the front of the car. The cover is the most square looking cover on that end of the valve body. Remove it, pull out the old spring assembly, assemble the new spring, install in the valve body, reinstall the cover, etc.

This is the best thread regarding this issue:

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...smission+flare

Complete with pictures.

One hint: Do not completely remove the square plate. Remove 3 of the 4 screws holding it and only loosen the 4th. Slide the plate out of the way to remove the spring assembly. It is much much easier to install the new spring and hold it in place with the plate by just sliding it back into position than trying to compress the longer new spring, and hold the plate and start a screw at the same time.
