I got the aftermarket 928 Int'l strap. Which one did you use?

Kind of related, does anyone have a source for the engine block-to-frame ground strap? I flipped through the PETand didn't see it. Also no luck searching on words like "ground" and "strap" on 928 Intl and Pelican's website. I noticed last weekend my strap is really getting rusty and crappy.

When I did this, I used a generic ground wire, maybe 4 ga. from the auto parts store. It was much better than factory, plus I left the cleaned up factory wiring in place.

The engine ground strap might last longer than the battery ground, no battery fumes and its close enough to the exhaust that moisture might not be an issue either.

Maybe it is part nr. 928 612 011 00, PET page 902-06. Costs EUR 11.25 per Porsche price list.

That is very similar to the ones I got from Waytek a while ago - though a little shorter I think. I used 2 together since these are only 4AWG (though its short enough that 1 is probably quite OK).

Though this does see heat - it also gets quite wet regularly - not so good for longevity

Alan.

The replacement I received from 928 Intl. fit like it belonged on the B+ terminal. It was very loose fitting on the B- terminal and required a lot of tightening to get it to hold on.

Just a heads up to anyone.

Engine Ground Strap is 928 612 011 00 and $17.27

I ordered 12 of the Waytech straps and will have them covered in the shrink wrap shortly.
