OB 16V "Supertrapp" exhaust on eBay, what the heck?

This has been on eBay for a while. I was curious just because of the Supertrapp muffler on the end. Can anyone tell me how those Supertrapp discs work? It looks like it's sealing the whole exhaust! Is this just a stock early no cat exhaust with a Supertrapp muffler on the end or custom?
Edit: Further research on these Supertrapp mufflers.
Basically to sum this video up, these Supertrapp mufflers serve as spark arrestors (not relevant on a street car), and seem to muffle sound as well as a traditional muffler but with less weight. Maybe this could be a solution to straight pipe 928's that want the noise, but want to quiet it down a bit. You can add or remove discs to tune the sound/backpressure i guess. I think it's sort of cool.

The Supertrapp tips use plates to control noise. There's gaps between the discs that allow exhaust flow. You can stack more or less discs, to control the amount of exhause noise to some degree. I used to use them on my racing Datsun 240Z. I would install the plates to drive the car to & from the track. At the track, I would remove the plates.

So do you think they could be useful for a straight pipe car or alternative to an RMB? I know getting the right sound level has been a problem with people here. It's either way too loud or too quiet.

saw alot of people in motocross/roadbikes with the supertrapps. I agree, they look goofy, and i never liked how they changed the pitch of the exhaust notes on bikes. 4 strokes sounded like harleys under water with them on, hard to describe, but not good.. i'd hate to have them change the awesome sound of the 928 exhaust. they used to make huge power gain claims, but no one i knew ever felt a difference.
