Default fuel pump

My external fuel pump is leaking sightly and I have decided to change it. I want to change the rubber pipe (928 356 550 04) in between the in tank pump to the external pump since it is already 21 years old.

The external fuel pump is easy to change but I have no idea how I can change the rubber pipe connecting the in tank pump and the external pump. Do I have to drop the tank to change it? Really appreciate for any advices. Thks.

You just need to get the tank empty to change that hose - once you remove the pump/filter cover you will get good access to the hose clamp at the tank outlet. Well worth changing after all these years, but its only subject to the pressure of fuel above it.
