Default Headlights

Hey guys,

87 S4 driver's side headlight is not connected to bracket underneath. I can pull it up by hand and it doesn't rest all the way down like the PS. Is there a write-up on how to fix this?

Push it down till it clicks - its designed to work this way... so you can't sever any body parts...

How much pressure does it take? I don't want to break it

If a gentle push wont set the lamp,
you might want to take a look inside the fender,
the light may be hitting one of the horns.

Not a huge amount - there is a friction cam/clip - pops in & out - test the other side - you can pull it up and then click it back in - that side is obviously OK. If this one is much harder may be worth a look at the mechanism in comparison side to side - see if anything is binding up.

Did you change anything recently there?

If you really need a good look you can take off the wheel and fender liner - but you shouldn't need to... Just remove the cover (3 screws) and the headlamp (4 screws) - you can see a lot more...

The horns are on the passenger side - but the alternator hose might be in the way...
