Chasing an inop window motor turned out to be a bad window switch that did not give enough voltage to the motor.
Now motor works great. But when I open the window the window stutters on the way down. Up is just fine.
New window guides - lubricated with white lithium grease.
Any suggestions?

maybe the white guide tube parts are not adjusted properly,
how does the window look just before it contacts the top edge?
Is the window edge the same distance on all sides?
Does the window go into the slot on top evenly or is its edge too far in or out? .
A few minor adjustments should return normal operation.

Side to side and front to back alignment seems to be dead on. The front edge to door opening is perfectly parallel. I am wonder if the felt pads are not correctly set. The tint is streaked where the felt pads are located.

with new guides you may have to reposition the felt pads and once thats done then reposition the tube guides as the original setting may change

Panel was off. I am thinking the regulator itself is unhappy. I find it interesting that now that a full 12v is getting to the motor that the window knocks on the down stroke.
For now I have a working window motor and that is good enough. 928 ownership offers many opportunities for remove the door panel and I will wait until then. :-)

Check the white plastic roller which rolls in the slot channel at the bottom of the window. If a piece is broken off it clunks as it rolls or if it was replaced and the pin/rivet was smashed peened too tight it does not roll.....and catches vibrates instead of rolls.
