Default hood release cable routing

Does anyone have any pictures showing the hood release cable routing? I have a cable that's got some problems, and is getting replaced. It's pretty clear that someone has been in the area under the fender liner at some point in the car's history, so I'd like to confirm what the proper routing should be.

Anything special to know about adjusting the new cable at the hood latch end, where the set screw secures it?

Starting from the inside: pull back the carpet...

With the fender liner removed...

Along the top inside of the fender (you need to remove that other cover at the front as well).

and through into the engine bay...

Connection to the release is just a simple screw that pinches the end of the cable, you'll have to play with it to get it so it releases when you first pull the lever but doesn't have tension until you do (if you know what I mean).

This pic is up from underneath the mechanism

Thank you for those pictures. They help with some of what was kind of questionable in the fender.
