Rare 928 color??
Hello. I have been looking for a nice 928s4 for a while, but in my area they are as rare as a mclaren.... This one is pretty close and seems very clean, but I don't really care for the color. Is this a rare color for a 928s4? It also has brown interior. i want one so bad that I am almost willing to make the sacrifice untill a nice one in a better color comes along (may be a long while).... I just don't want to be STUCK with it.....
He is asking $8500. Its an '87 w/ 83,xxxk miles, auto, No recent maint records. From an estate sale, but very clean....

Three Wheelin'
I think the code is 80D on that car. I'll be honest. I kind of like it. You can't say it isn't different. That's for sure.

Sure the head says you need maint records, PPI, and all the jazz... then the gut says just buy it. I'd trust my gut on this one and my head doesn't think it will be on the market long at that price.

It's a great price for a 87, it's clean, interior and exterior looks unmolested, as for the color, Porsche has unique color, if the engine bay is the same then it should sell quick.

Yes, looks like a winner. As someone once said, a 928's value is based on three things: the exterior, the interior and mechanical condition. If you have a choice, you're way better off dealing with mechanicals than trying to fix/restore either of the first two.
BTW, looks like 12-way driver's seat with heater, so nicely equipped. And that mahogany brown interior is pretty rare in itself ...

Not rare, but not common. It looks clean and well priced if mechanically sound. If it looks well cared for or has records indicating same, that is a big plus, is the owner available? Did anyone menton PPI with flex plate? I like the color, not sure about brown interior, but it may grow on you. If it becomes yours and it is sound, I'm betting you will smile everytime you look in the garage. Finding something local is a plus when you consider time and trouble to inspect something far away; do you add shipping to the purchase price or fly there and drive? Everything is a compromise.

Having seen and worked on the car I can tell you it's Nougat Brown, not Cassisrot. If it were a 5-speed with LSD and sport seats it would not be for sale, it would be in my stable. That would be one of my perfect combinations, love the color!
