Hi!
This is my first time writting in this forum...I'm writting from Spain.
I own a 1979 auto 928 and I'm having problems with my reverse light, wich does not turn on.
I would like to change my backup light swicht, but couldn't find it.
could anybody please show me some photo of it in an auto gearbox? Anybody know the reference of this piece?

Hi, greetings from your "cousin" from Italy!!! You did not specify if you hae an AT or a MT; anyhow on my 1988 S4 (AT) the reverse light switch is located to the left side of the gearbox. It is a MB spare, as the AT is also MB's/ I had it replaced back 4 years ago and it was approx 250 eur spending.

You might try disconnecting and reconnecting the wiring harnesses in the spare tire area. These are at the right-front of the tire hole. I believe the signal runs through there and it may be simple corrosion. Worth a try.

Ok Glenl, maybe there's corrosion in the harnesses in the place of the spare tire cause sometimes the light works. I will try cleaning the cable with a brush and some contact cleaning. Thanks.

Vsalvato, Thanks also. My gearbox is automatic and it is a MB one but is a bit older than yours. I Thanks mine is an A22.02 of 01....
