Help Sharks Take Over Hi-Po Driver's Ed w/ PCA - VIR, March 15-17, 2013
Zone 2 PCA, which includes 10 PCA regions from PA to VA, is putting together a High Performance Driver's Education event at Virginia International Raceway on March 15-17, 2013. That's three full days of track driving! If you've never done one before, I cannot say enough about how amazing an experience it is, and one you really have to experience first hand at least once as a 928 owner. Drivers are paired with instructors who provide invaluable information about car control, track lines, and general racing knowledge. After just one session I am a totally different driver, and much more in touch with my car's abilities, as well as my own.
Come do this!
We're trying to get together a big group of 928s there, hopefully coordinating with the 928 Owner's Club, too, and if we act quickly, the registrars will hold spots for us. So far I asked for 8-10 slots, and that wasn't a problem. If you're interested, please comment here, and we will get a sign-up going.
The Zone 2 website is a bit low on details at the moment, though it mentions a Friday night social and a Saturday banquet. http://pcazone2.intuitwebsites.com/D...Education.html Cost for the Watkins Glen event was $340. This might be more because it's 3 days, but I can't imagine it would be over $500.
Admin, can we get a sticky, please?

Awesome Ken! Great video, too.
My contact was asking about advanced drivers and instructors. If anyone falls into those categories, please let me know right away. I'm definitely still a noob!

Ok Mike, I posted a thread in the OC events page with a link to this thread. Hopefully we can get a strong showing and show these taildraggers what it's all about.
Ken, nice video, what camera and telemetry are you using?

Two cams ( Obviously):
1. Go-Pro Mounted to gas tank strap. This was just for fun to see the wheels/suspension. Normally it's on the roof or side window.
2. Droid phone on dash running aLapRecorder ( http://adyno.net/). This captures video and data ( GPS and accelerometer from phone)
Then I render it all post race using "Race Render" http://www.racerender.com/RR2/Features.html

Count me in as well. I live in Maryland and I've been wanting to improve my handling skills for my 928 and see what she can really do (in a safe environment).
She should be ready by March with all the necessary service and mods.

I assume the normal registration will be through clubregistration.net. But I'm trying to arrange for us to have a pre-registered block. If we can get to 8-10, we should be good. One thing that would lock it would be some advanced drivers, and/or instructors. Calling Gary Knox... Hinchcliffe... Will keep you posted.
