Tony I would suggest to get some Dow Corning 111 and apply a generous smear along the lower channel prior to installing the rubber seal this will prevent water getting onto the paint in the channel.
The only downside to this is you may see streaks after washing, detail spray will remove the streaks.

Thanks Stan, I'll check out that Dow Corning 111. A glass installer also recommended Butyl Rubber Sealent. What do you think ? TIA. T

Did you remove the glass for any reason which may have compromised the seal?

If not, after a rain or a wash....blow the water away with a simple air-powered blow gun......it's even suggested by non-928 owners...

or better yet take the car on a drive and let the water blow away naturally

Yes, recent paint job (Just Peachy) and all the glass is out. Would like to fill and seal the lower qtr windows to prevent the typical pooling of water, and prevent rust down the road. Trying to eliminate dragging out a blow gun every time the car is washed or after it rains. Stan is onto something there, just could not find that thread. T

Amazon has it as well .

If your going to use a sealant then the DC wont work as it will prevent the sealant from sticking.

NOTE the DC will also provide a water barrier.

So smear the metal channel with the DC 111 then install the seal with the glass

NOTE your not really going to prevent water from entering the channel so its possible with using the rubber sealant could actually trap the water and thus it will eventually start the rusting process all over.

The DC also seems to stop the doors from corroding as well,
if you have a corrosion spot where you can see the paint bubbling simply smear some DC on it the corrosion will stop due to the fact water will not get past the DC
This also works on the earlier cars where the sealing strip was placed along the bottom edge of the door
