Faceplate Viewing Angle Modification
Here is how Jim explained the modification to me:
I can do an "adjustable" mod, this adds a small (1/8", 3.2mm) hole on the backside of the faceplate to access a trimpot with a jeweler's screwdriver. The viewing angle is adjustable over a wide range, from the original look-down-from-above to a bit below straight-on. This would only be useful if you think you might want to use the radio in a different car in the future.
Here is a photo of the back of my CDR-220 faceplate showing the modification as described by Jim:

Hi everyone
The cdr220 looks great. Three things:
1. Does it utilize all of the speakers in the car, all 8 of them?
2. Do you really need an amp or can it be directly connected to the speakers?
3. Someone referred to and posted a photo of the Becker Indianapolis in his car which to me looks just as good if not better than the cdr220 and has nav etc. does anybody know if there is any particular problem installing that system?
Yours views are much appreciated. Than you in advance. By the way this is a copy of the other gentlemans Indianapolis.

2. no, yes
3. no problem, other than the nav might not work since Becker uses the European navigation system. Not sure it will work in Australia.

There are a few different Becker models to consider: CDR-220, Traffic Pro, Indianapolis, Grand Prix, DTM. There migth be other models. I am not familair with the specifications of each, but there is plenty info to be found on the internet. The Traffic Pro (which I have) is good for navigation (in Europe) and is essentially the same as the CDR-220 but without "Porsche" on the front. The Grand Prix is more or less the same as the Indianapolis but without navigation. DTM has navigation as well. As said I think for Europe only.
Anyway, when it comes to looks it is a matter of personal preference. That said, I personally like the CDR-220, Traffic Pro and DTM over the Indianapolis and Grand Prix because I think the square look fits the 928 interior better than the oval look of the Indianapolis and Grand Prix. But again, it's a personal preference.
