Mine doesn't and refuses to as all her friends do it and it disrupts the class. She's too busy taking pre-college classes and doesn't want the distraction.

The fluid level in the automatic transmission is critical. To check the fluid level:
- The car must be level front-to-rear and side-to-side.
- The engine must be running, and the transmission must be in neutral or Park.
- The fluid level must always be between the two upper marks on the fluid tank when checked.
- Be very careful to avoid dropping dirt into the tank or fluid.

Should the car be warm or cold while running and in neutral ? I have seen some say take it around the block, others say get it hot and some have said start it up and check cold.

So we should assume you are busy draining and refilling the differential before further transmission investigation?
