First Long(ish) road trip,,,and a thank you to you guys
Hi All
So last weekend, my wife and i had a wedding to go to (about 400km from here), and summoned up the courage to take our old shark on its first substantial road trip since owning it about a year and a half ago.I have always been a bit nervous about its "fitness" for a long trip as the car has a long list of things that need to be addressed/replaced perhaps, and although the car has never let me down, i fully appreciate that its an old car and things will fail.
I am really pleased, no thrilled actually!, to report that the trip was magnificent. The car performed flawlessly, cruising at about 120kph for three hours, enlightened me as to what this car is all about.
Years ago, we had a BMW 733, which was an amazing highway car, but to be fair, it was never as rewarding a drive as my old 82 shark is, not even close.
Man, i just can't tell you how much i love everything about this car.
I just wanted to say that i owe all of you here who have helped me problem solve, and understand my 928, a HUGE thanks, cuz this past weekend trip was truly one of the most enjoyable things i have ever done-without the help here, this wonderful car would be altogether beyond me.
The road to restore my 928 to its former glory is long and expensive, but i am having a blast! I can only guess that a late model 928 must be like driving perfection.
Cheers,
Adrian

Sounds like you had fun Adrian.
I'm 80 km from the highway and 190 km on the highway from the nearest town with anything. I have to driver this far just to get a decent pair of Bauer skates for my son. For me every trip is a road trip, and that's just fine.
