Well our 1st day of racing the 928 Pinata' went really well.......it is a nearly 100% stock 1982 3 speed auto....other than being gutted and having a cage, its got tired suspension, hockey puck like tires (500 tread rating) in 225/50-16 with stock S brakes with street pads, but ATE fluid and braided steel lines....
I was quite concerned that we would have a very short weekend since the transmission lost reverse on Friday....rpms go up....car goes NOWHERE.... but all 3 drive gears work great...no issues....
We ended Saturday in 46th overall of 185 cars and 12th in our class.... Not bad considering we pit once an hour to make sure everyone gets seat time....
My old lemons 928 (not the estate) is here as well.....it was a 79 that was seriously gutted and now runs a chebby 350 with turbo 400 trans....they barely got it ready in time & have serious overheating issues.......but their fabrication sure looks nice!!!!
This morning started off BAD....it turns out the fuel strainer had come loose and was occasionally blocking the pump....so we had to drain the whole tank to fix it.....that was a nice 1:01:32 pit stop
Dropped us to 86th....
Oh well we are back running now......and hopefully we can improve some more places and finish with a running car!!!!!
Enough talk onto the pics

UPDATE..................
Well things quickly got worse for us..........after we fixed the fuel strainer a short time later the the viscous fan clutch totally died.....so after a few laps at 240F we decided to call it a day with 2 hours left.....we got a slightly better used clutch from a 911...but it didn't seem like it would fit.....
1st thing in the morning the clutch was "ticking"....we weren't sure were the ticking was coming from the front of the engine....unfortunately we found out later it was the fan clutch :>(
Many thanks to Mark (owner of car) for letting me drive for him and have fun (I'm wearing the stylish mustache) while our race ended up a little short, we all had a blast & they made the over 700 mile trek to Thunderhill......
