After finally getting out my front main seal and cam shaft oil seals I'm trying to find the best way of installing. Particularly what/how to lube for install?
Didn't see much in WSM on this. And I've been looking at different posts regarding using motor oil on the inside and permatex on the outside of seals?
I do not want to have that main seal leaking after putting this baby back together!
Any thoughts.

I just did mine and the recommendations I received from many here was no lube on the outer mating surface of the seal and DC111 or similar silicon lubricant on the inner surface of the seal where it meets the camshaft and crankshaft.
I have about a 100 miles on mine with no leaks.

Any good lube that will stay on the seal until the oil gets there will do. The only goal is to prevent melting the tip of the lip seal when you first start the engine. I wouldn't trust oil to stay there that long...
