Have never seen one of these in person, but I wonder ... on my car the space behind the door panel in this location seems to be used by the 'loop' in the wiring harness to extend and contract as you open and shut the door. When a 928 got the CD holder was there room enough behind it for the harness or did they change something back in there to make space for both?

Hi Tom, I don't know the answer to your question, but here are a few pics of the installation. I have 4 of the CD holders and plan to build a similiar set up with aluminum and/or fiberglass. Long term project that still waits to be started.

Cool Jim, that will be a neat project. Can't have too many storage spots inside a 928 ... I've thought about putting a swing-open sunglass holder in that location, like the ones you see in some newer cars.

I think they pushed the wires up a little.
Here's why I say that. Mine developed a short in the driver side door harness. I think what happened was during installation the wires were pushed up above this holder. That's where it came in contact with a sharp metal cover connected with the speaker system.
I never had to open any of my other 928's so I don't have anything else to go by.
While I was in there I changed the door stop detent.

It just sticks out a lot - seems like its below where the grommet is - I think they look pretty crappy, much like the stock CD changer.
These days (fortunately) there are few resons to have a bunch of CD's loose or in a changer cassette... one tiny SD-Card surpasses them all.
Time to move along with the times I think...![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
