Default First road trip since restored 3 years ago

So today i have to do some business in a city 80 miles from home and decided to give the old girl a chance to proof she is reliable or not since a lot of work has been done to her in 3 years. The temperature just a little pass the first white line on the highway and middle while in town, oil pressure were at 5 and 3 on idle, battery was just under 14, tranny shift well, kick down works great, full throttle from stop to about 85 mph - smooth, return home, open the hood, no smokes, no leaks, just hot, left the hood up and cool her down, she's ready for her next trip!

Well that's jsut good prctice. I have my "Porche Bag" that stays in the car with relays, some tools and my IR gun, and some basic emergency stuff....
Can't beleive you've waited this long...
Car probably just had ten years added to it's life......

It's good to see I'm not the only one that feels and prepares the same way when going on road trips... But these things really are so much fun just to get out and drive..

People talk about an "Italian" tune up, zooming around for a bit, but I think nothing cleans out a motor better than a long cruise. The brain and O2 sensor keep the mix right on the mark, and engine comes fully up to temperature, and lots of flow in both the oil and coolant systems.

It took me 3 years of studying, searching and lucky enough to have a friend/mechanic for help, once you get yours all sorted out, continue to learn, ask questions, read this board, she will be your girl real soon

I believe in the Italian tune up. When I leave my office there are many times I am at redline in first and second gears on the on ramp and highway. Then I slow down. Funny I get a belt tension warning when I don't have a belt tension warning indicator hooked up (I have a Porkensioner). I'll have to work on that ground one of these days.
