Default 928 Racing in Lemons Sept 15-16 @ Thunderhill!!

Since my "lemons" 928 Estate was sold across the country, I managed to convince the Salt Lake City crew to haul their Lemons 928 to Thunderhill for the Sept 15-16 race!!!! I even managed to score a DRIVERS seat!!!!

Come on out and cheer us on!!!!!! Tickets are cheap ($30 for weekend), we have plenty of food + adult beverages ......the SLC guys are camping, probably in my shop (17) and a trailer.....I am debating camping or getting a room.....but camping is cheaper and I am POOR....

I am a bit concerned about the noise the 928 Pinata will make down the front straight at 100+mph

I can't wait! Why don't you hook up our go pros? Those would be really cool and you can make your video right then and there!

Wish I was driving a 928 this time around. I won't be in "Licensed to Ill" this time either. Have fun!

Getting excited..................the SLC guys are a few hours out....should arrive at Thunderhill tonight!!!!

Ricky Petty and I will be there tomorrow around noon!!! Have a bit of pre race work to do on the Pinata 928 before the race.....like flushing brake fluid and a general check.....no problem.......

Racing starts at about 10-11am on Saturday....should run till 5pm or so..... I got my costume all ready today!!!!! Got my sweet mexican poncho, sombrero & big *** mustache ready for BS inspection.......now I just gotta pickup a nice bottle of tequila to bribe da judges......

I live for this racing stuff thru you brian.
Good luck and be safe.

We have an 86.5 in garage here in indiana that might make GingerMan's 1.9 mile course next spring for lemons; it would have early 5 speed box, if so, will need your advice.

Thanks.....Ricky is bringing ALL his go-pro cameras, & I have my 4+ hour camcorder that I plan on putting in the car.... I will also take lots of pics....

ON your lemon.....the bummer is the G28-03 5 speeds (I have 3) will NOT work with the later torque tubes, rear cross member or shift rods.....so you would need early versions of all three to make it work.....

for lemons racing....KEEP THE AUTOMATIC...no doubt at all......928 5 speeds are far too fragile for endurance racing....not a doubt in my mind about that....I put over 90+ hours of racing on 928 automatics in only 2 years....with ZERO-NADA-NOTHING issues.....just install a LARGE trans cooler and you will be fine....

I still have the 4 speed auto that came out of the Estate....but its an open diff

I think its around 10am....but you know how it goes.....waste nearly an hour with parade style laps until things get going....

I did HEAR that there will be a RECORD # of cars....so think 200 on track...thats my guess
