Default Power Window problem

DS power window goes up and down, but not without me guiding it! It is skewing, pivoting on one point.

I've looked at the autoatlanta diagram and I seem to have a different setup?

I have a plate that is bolted to the window (black rectangle I added on diagram)
but no rail (14), and none of the circled parts.

Most power window setups that I've seen IIRC have a scissors type of arrangement, with two points pushing up on bottom of window.

This has just a single lever pushing up, with window being guided by the bar. Not sure what is going on here. It looks as though there are two captured nuts that could attach a second guide on bar to keep window positioned correctly? I found two bolts in bottom of door that look like they would fit but no other parts.

Looking at diagram, part #9 looks like the white plastic piece attached to window plate, (not shown on original diagram) and part #8 looks like it should be attached to the "captured Nuts" in my lower pic?

WSM is not much help on this!

The "rail" (item 14 in your diagram) isn't a rail. That is the rubber weather seal that is installed between the inside of the glass and the window slot in the door. The circled parts are felt covered guide pads that help the window glass follow the correct arc as the glass rises. They should be visible in the window slot if you gently part the inner and outer weatherstrip with the glass lowered.

Your diagnosis of missing lower guide block is correct. I can't remember off the top of my head where the lower guide block attaches to the window but your location seems correct. Replace both guides on each window along with the felt pads if they are missing. The adjustment procedure from the WSM will put things right once you have all the required parts to the system installed.

The window mechanism has a bar and the two white plastic guides slide on it. Then you have the window regulator roller (number 1C on your diagram) that slides inside the rail and lifts the window up (or down).
The parts you marked as "don't have" are felts that push the glass against the seal and are located in the inside of the door and arew adjustable to put more or less pressurre.
There are many write-ups here. The ones that helped me the most are below:

Good luck

from your picture it is possible that #8 has fallen off the lower window mount and is sitting on the bottom of the black tube.
this would let the window slide back and forth ,
I would suggest to order new plastic guides then remove the black tube and fit them,
the inner window seal if its removed will let you see how the felt pads work on the window and adjust them if necessary,
dont forget to put the inner seal back in before you install the door panel

Solved! Mrmerlin as usual you're correct. I had felt down there originally and used a magnet pickup tool and retrieved a bunch of bolts, washers and screws! But no lower brace. I thought someone had put it together incorrectly and it was just missing. But after looking and reading these posts, I felt down along tube and there it was! The lower brace. I had picked up all the bolts and washers for it. But it was wedged at the very bottom of the bar!

Thanks all.
