Name that alternator
Hi guys. so ps pump is out for resealing right now and i dropped the alternator with intention of putting back the shroud it needs as i noticed it was missing. got a shroud but noticed it doesnt fit on the back of my alternator (completely different hole patterns, no sticking out bolts, and smaller than the shroud will allow.) I think the later model alternators still had the bolts that would stick out for mounting the shroud so this brings up alot of questions.
I do have a delco replacement in hand already but wanted to try keeping the shroud first, should i just switch over to the delco and be done?
Thanks,
Jonathan.

Jonathan--
Are you following the other thread on fitting the shroud? Metric all-thread replaces the shorter screws so you have something to attach to. Your picture looks amazingly like a Bosch alternator-- is that the shroud you bought?

The back of your alternator looks like my Bosch AL115X alternator. I am working through trying to get the shroud to mount and rout properly now.

My altyernator had also suffered from a long series of oil leaks. I did pull it apart and clean it out.
