LH Versions and Brain Part Numbers

I have searched and read enough to make my head spin. I am hoping someone can lay it out plain and simple.
My question concerns my 84 Euro LH brain and how it compares to others. I believe I have LH v2.2. The P/N on the box is 928 618 123 00. I see that PET lists 928 618 123 02 for 84-86 16v Euros.
- What is the difference between 928 618 123 00 and 928 618 123 02 ?
- As I understand, 928 618 123 00 has no provision for O2 feedback; does 928 618 123 02 have O2 feedback provision?
- Is 928 618 123 02 a supeceding part number?
Take me to school on this. Thanks.

Brian,
From memory, the diff. btw the 00 & 02 is soldered vs. socket EPROM chip.
No O2 loop for either, until 03 or 04 (85-86 US)
If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Thanks Jim. Also hoping someone will know if there is a difference in the fuel mapping between 00 and 02. I suspect not. I seem to recall a discusison about a clock speed change at some point as well - that probably ocurred on the versions with the 02 loop.

I ran an 02 chip in my '84 Euro.

928 618 123 00 was for MY84 and was superceded in 85 by the 02. Neither have provision for O2 sensor or the idle valve of the 32v engines (these have 03, 04 & 05.)
The most significant difference between 00 and 02 is that the former runs the uC at a lower clock speed than the later versions, its software is also completely different structure. This is why we don't support 00 with SharkTuner ver 1, we do support all the later ones 02 -05.
00 is however directly interchangeable with 02 for a Euro, but you can't swap chips (EPROMS) from one to the other.

Does the 00 perform any differently than the stock 02 (not tuned)? i.e fuel map differences?

The 00 and 02 are virtually identical in their functionality. They are fully interchangeable.
The fuel maps follow the familiar Porsche pattern, somewhat on the weak side for economy in the mid range, over rich at the high load end.
The Euro S2 is much more sensitive to MAF ageing than the non-cat S4s we have commonly in the UK - they tolerate much less MAF ageing, loss of flow volume from the injectors and other adverse tolerances.
