I've got a crack right along the round portion of the support bracket 'pan". Chances are I messed up installing it a few years ago, it was a tight fit getting all the nuts tightened down on each leg of the bracket. Not a crazy amount, but enough that I had some concern, but not enough that I stopped and tried again.

I did some mix and match at the time with tanks and support brackets. I am pretty sure I cleaned and put back the original 83 fuel tank, but I may have used an early support bracket (without the plastic panel over the lines up the side). Does the bracket matter?

Closest fuel tank I've found that looks good is from a 1980. Should my early bracket be OK?
