The question of where you are located, while it seems odd is important as the group can steer you to the right people to take a first hand look at the car and diagnose what needs to be done. Don't get discouraged yet this group is the most supportive that I have found in all my car hobby experience. One last tip, take the time to join Rennlist as a member so that you can show your support to the community.

Its certainly not a total loss.. you have a good looking 928 that drives nicely. Its good to know your cars history, and when you get a wheel alignment done, you'll know to check whether it can be set correctly. If it is bent, the 928 frame can be straightened - there've been a few posted on this forum, and I've seen one local GTS which suffered a bent frame at the track who got properly repaired (on the correct frame jig for a 928).

If you're worried about the trans, you can check the number on the bottom of it - the lower edge at the rear of the transmission will have the transmission type and serial number stamped in it (facing the ground), and will tell you the model year (should be something like G28/55 81Lxxxxxx I think from memory for a '90 GT). Odds are its the correct one and your problem is just a usual PSD problem

The PSD light and ABS lights together usually means a problem with a wheel sensor, as they're shared by both systems, which isn't an uncommon fault. It could be a problem with the wiring, ground points, or the sensor itself. A search here on checking ABS sensors will bring up a lot of helpful steps. Cleaning all the ground points should be on your list of annual maintenance regardless, as these are electrically-complex cars, and clean grounds will prevent a lot of gremlins.

The Bosch Hammer can talk to the PSD controller - although I don't have PSD on my 928's so not sure whether the Hammer (or equivalent other tool) will tell you which wheel the fault lies at.

Dan-

(EDIT: Rats, Hilton's had his coffee and is quick on the draw.... )

Given Mason's DNA in this car's family tree, the first thing I'd do is verify the identity of the transmission that's in the car, and that the PSD unit is in fact present and attached to the tranny. On the rearmost bottom rib of the transmission, under the grime, there should be stamped letters saying G2855 3L XXXXX, where the XXX's are a serial #. Should look like the pic below. The 'L' indicates 1990.

Then there should be a hardline from the PSD pump to the tranny, it runs along the left side of the battery box then above the axle shaft:
