1st gear shudder on launch

1st gear shudder on launch
MY 87 S4 - shudders on 1st gear launch. All the other shifts are perfect. It likes to go.
I know the motor mounts are crushed. I have a pair on the shelf ready to be installed.
There is an oil leak from the DS cam cover and I wonder if that oil could migrate to the clutch. I tend to rule that out because the of shifts are fine. Maybe a leaking rear main seal?
What years had dual clutch plates?
