Default Morehouse CD TB video won't play

Alright I consider myself somewhat tech savy but I can't get the TB video on my Morehouse CD to play. Windows media player won't recognize it on 2 different machines and I downloaded a player from CNET and can't get it to play with that either. Just seems to keep loading and never launches.

Bad disc, wierd format or wrong player program choice?

The videos are standard mpg (mpeg1 or mpeg2) files, and play normally with Windows Media Player on my Windows XP and Windows 7 boxes. Perhaps a bad copy?

Jim – Can you look at the directory of the disk or is it just that file that's giving you trouble when you try to launch it?

All of my JM disks had warped over time--I think because the labels had shrunk. I put some heavy books on top of them overnight and the next day they worked fine. I immediately copied them to my C drive after that...

Try the disc on something other than your computer like a DVD player.
The disc may not have been finalized when it was made/ copied. If it works on a DVD player it is not the disc.

Jim - Try copying that file to your hard drive and then play it from there. I just looked, that file is about 600 MB. Maybe it’s getting dorked when it’s caching from your CD/DVD drive.

I have tried 3 different computers. All have the same issue. Computer recognizes the cD and I can access the menu and all other files on the CD open.

When I click on the video it just starts spinning and media player says there is a error. I can't even copy to a HDD. I will see if I can get a new copy of that one disc.

Try it on a DVD player not on another computer to determine if the DVD itself is bad. If it does not play on a DVD player then that will confirm that the DVD is bad.

If you do not confirm for certain that the DVD is bad ( not finalized/ damaged) then you will be repeating the same scenario.

You may also want to look at the DVD to see if there is anything obvious to determine damage like scratches etc.

Jim,

Glad I could help. I would run into this situation from time to time when I owned a News Monitoring business and would dub news segments for customers.

Yes, I would get another copy of the DVD.

Sometimes the blank DVD's that the original material is copied to are bad and will act like this.
Very frustrating for both parties.

Try this free player:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

It can sometimes play damaged files even when other players fail.

Default can get you another copy

Hi Jim,
Sorry, haven't been on the forum much lately and just saw your post. I can send you another copy w/o a label if you'd like. Just pm me your address.

Jim
