Default Taillight warning

Hi.

I have the taillight warning light coming on all the time in my 81`.
All lights are working, so what should I start checking?

All bulbs must be the correct value. From what i've observed, (in the US) it is hard to get the proper 5w bulbs (for the side markers for example.) Common errors are replacing the 5w bulbs with 7w bulbs. I think if the total wattage in use (detected by the BCU) is over/under the expected value a warning is displayed.

Also the turn signal bulbs and the front running light bulbs are also taken into account, in addition to the tails.

One last thing. IF the Tail bulbs are too high a watt (or the brake bulbs) , you can cause the OB tail light lenses to 'melt' ..
