stop lamp warning light problem

Default stop lamp warning light problem

Hi guys , new problem since couple days , the. Stop lamp warning light on my dash. Has been on at all time when driving , only goes off web the brake pedal was pressed. I Checked all bulbs and I found one of the reverse lights was burned so I put new one and " stop lamp" warning light is still on, what does that mean ? Switch ? Check out the video

iirc ITS NORMAL FOR THE STOP LAMP WARNING TO COME ON AT STARTUP, AND IT STAYS ON UNTIL YOU PRESS THE PEDAL...sorry about the caps.

But the light comes back on while driving .

This is absolutely correct. Replace both stop lamp bulbs with same brand and type bulbs to see if that cures the problem. Also, IIRC, replace the bulbs with small globe bulbs to keep the melting heat away from the lens.

IIRC they should be 20Watt, it is written on the side of the Lamp Control Unit, only the Stop, Tail and Rear side are monitored but two circuits from the unit.
