1990 928 power window issue
OK so...
I have a 90 928. It has a tbf. So no motor. I'm currently building an LS1. Anyway, I'm in the process of getting all the internals of the car fixed while the motor is out. So im wanting to put in new window quides. However I cant get the windows, sunroof and HVAC fans (front and rear) to work.
I pulled the driver poor panel. I tested the 2 motor wires. I can get power to the"up" wire, but (I believe) when the polarity reverses the window should reverse, no power to the other wire, so wont go down... And wont go up or down, unless I phyiscally ground either wire myself. Funny though... when U psh any of the window switches I can hear a faint clicking in the doors.
Windows etc all worked before I pulled the motor.
What did I unplugged that would allow these things to work?
Also...the 14 pin connector in the engine by passenger head light, I have installed and jumped to the power cable to the battery, so I can have "power" to the CE panel.
Any suggestions?

remove the connector at the window motor,
get a 12V power supply, a charger set on 2 amps will work ,
touch the wires to the motor ,
then it will either wind up or down,
swap the leads to reverse the motor

Yes, well like I mentioned the issue is both windows, sunroof and HVAC. Fuses are all good. Im looking in the shop manuals, all the windows and sunroof go through the "control unit power window regulator / sunroof" I wonder if there is an issue with that unit?

Yes, sorry electrical drawings in WSM.
My third eye is telling me that there is a ground issue. When I push the window up toggle I get power to the motor proven by using a test light. When I push the toggle down, I get no reading on the test light by testing the other wire. Also, any toggle I push, they all give me a positive reading to the test light by taking the reading on the power window motor. which I think is totally wrong. Why pushing the sunroof close would give me power the wire in the door?
Remember however the sun roof, windows and HVAC fans all worked correctly until I removed the motor...
