Default :: ECS Tuning :: Dread Taking Your Rotor Screws Out ?

These "NEW" stainless steel screws, offered exclusively through ECS, will make your future brake jobs a cinch. Rotor screws can easily be damaged during the removal or from the heat the brakes make. When you need to replace your rotors, do it right, and always use ECS Stainless Steel Rotor Set Screws.

If you feel our site or shipping has an error please feel free to contact me or email us.

We try to be competitive with our shipping rate - Most of our ECS brand product will have free shipping along with other parts/kits on the site. Please add to the order what you will know you will need later on to save on shipping (Service kits, oil, ect) - Pricing on fuel is what is hurting everyone not just us, UPS included.

This rotor screw was not intended to be a project in itself. I do not expect you to take your wheels off just to replace this screw, that would not make any sense. This is an additional step that you can take when you need new rotors, to avoid the problem in the future. Order a new set of rotors from us, and get rotor screws to go along with them. The more you need, the less impact shipping will be on an individual item. I don't know the exact amount, but UPS charges a flat rate per box, just to pick it up. Delivery is above and beyond even that.

Regardless, this is a brand new product that we have developed to make your life easier, and I am excited to bring it to you.

Pretty decent markup for the cost of a stamp.

Its a good deal.

Impact screwdriver makes removal a snap. New factory pieces are/were cad plated so are reasonably corrosion resistant. Still, a smear of anti-seize will guarantee future removability.

The crews keep the rotors firmly on the hats when wheels are removed. Not a big deal unless errant crud drops into the space and un-trues the rotor a smidge. If the factory could have left hem off, they would have. Parts that aren't installed at the factories ( don't have to be purchased, stocked, installed, warrantied, stocked as spares or replaced later. That 30 cent screw costs five dollars to fit to the car, at least on paper. They put them on anyway.

Impact driver is the key, its the funny looking cylinder with socket drive on the end you hit with a hammer. The impact rotates the drive internally, smack and twist at the same time. Craftman I think is the same as Lisle, both work fine and cost $15 to $25.

Get 'em done in yellow zinc with a chromate wash and we'll talk. (Can one plate stainless? )

Having had to deal with extracting a munged-up corroded one, I can easily see where an 8-pack of these would be great to have.

..still not convinced of the necessity to have em at all.

Some manufacturers do this a lot, some never have.

Screws wont keep crud from getting under a rotor in a brake service.

They keep the rotor tight against the hat so crud can't get in there.

Ya know, just saying "you're right, ~$13 to ship 8 little screws isn't right. I can send them via USPS in a priority envelope for $3.50" would've been enough. Making you the victim of UPS and assigning blame because I didn't buy enough stuff for a "project" just doesn't seem right. And BTW, check your products--you don't sell rotors for 928s--at least not the 5 different MYs I looked up.

Thanks Roger for the rotors/pads and set-screws last night!

I like them because I had to fight all 8 of them in my 78. Shipping a set of 8 screws to the Netherlands costs USD 67,70. i'll pass...

The unfortunate part about that is that I do not currently have any other shipping method than UPS. We are working on integrating other forms of shipment into our system. The problem with a priority envelope is that there is no tracking number, and we do not currently send products out without a tracking number. Having dealt with the US Postal Service many times in the past, they feel no sympathy over having lost one of your packages.

None of my previous statement was intended to portray us as victimized. I am simply stating the fact that shipping can be exorbitant for a small package. I am also not intending to appropriate blame toward yourself by telling you you have not purchased enough. I am trying to portray the fact that these rotor screws were never intended to be purchased by themselves. This is more of a "while I'm in there" type of project.

Additionally, please contact me at your convenience to let me know what three model years, and where on the site you looked for rotors. If there are holes in our rotor coverage, I would like to be made aware of that as better to serve our customers.
