I also confirmed good condition of y-pipe and all-new fuel lines. She's driving like a dream.
Congrats! How long did the carpet reinstall take?

I'm only about 1/3 thru the job :-( I did the easy parts and had to take a break. Its my main transportation for now and starting next week I will be commuting in the shark 70 miles a day, just for a couple months until I purchase another vehicle.

I will post again in the spring once the new carpet is all in.

Resurrecting this old thread to ask what parts should I get before embarking on a carpet replacement? I have the carpet kit. I see dynamat. What sound deadener? What clips? I plan on pulling the seats and dash bits and having them refinished by a local upholstery shop* while doing the carpet gig.

*Speaking of local upholstery shop, there are a number in Denver metro and 2 or 3 stand out. Any first-hand recommendations?

Thank you!

The clips being referred to are most likely the black and white ones for the door cards. There is a good possibility that the door "arm rests" will also be broken at the mounting tabs, so you may need to address that, too.

I'll be installing completely custom cut carpet in about a week (maybe). I use rolls of plain carpet, make templates with painters paper, and use carpet layer heat tape to make the seams invisible.
It takes a lot longer than installing a pre-molded set of "pieces" but I'm just not a fan of the multi piece look. I'm still pondering what to use for sound insulation/barrier layers...

both types of clips are .75/ea from 928intl, and the door armrest reinforcement kit is ~100 I think, from same.

++1
I would just plan on replacing all of them with new....most likely they're original and a lot of mine were brittle and broke on removal. They aren't expensive.
