In my experience it has either been a fauklty heater control valve, however in your case this has been deleted. Next likely susopect is gass charge levels. Easily tested by a A/C service shop. Sounds to me like your AC needs a re-charge. Also have then check for any leaks as you may also have a slow/small leak somewhere. Ockams Razor rules.
