Default seat belt chime/gong

After doing a search on this topic and how some mentioned they wanted to remove the relay, is it normal for the seat belt chime to stay on until you fasten your seat belt?

The owners manual says it should stay on for 6 secs or until you fasten your seatbelt, which leads me to believe there is something wrong with mine.

Could it be the seat belt chime relay? If so, can I access it by just removing the radio, or is there an easier way to get to it? Thanks.

You should be able to get to it by removing the passenger side center console kick panel. It should be held in by 3 screws. It is in front of the HVAC vacuum module, mounted on the driveline tunnel.
