Pittsburgh Gathering July 21st - POST GATHERING PICS
Hi Folks - we are looking to stir up interest and get the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (PVGP) get together back on track. It is a great weekend of all things cars, and a 928 Owner's Club sponsored event (Rick - Wyattsride - got us some goodies to hand out).
I have missed this gathering since moving to Montana, but now that I am back home, I'd love to see this become a more significant event for this region. Sorry for the lateness in getting this message out - it is taxing to move and switch jobs But let's not pass up the chance to resume this fun GTG again. Here's the link with some pictures from the last one in 2008 - https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...ring-pics.html.
So, now is the time to register for the PVGP 928 get together in Pittsburgh. It is coming up weekend after this, July 21st and 22d. To register, go the the Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America website and download the registration form. Follow the instructions posted there (website is www.arpca.com). DO NOT REGISTER DIRECTLY WITH THE PVGP.
The cost is - $75 (which includes a lunch and refreshments for 2 with a portion of that amount going to the PVGP for the charity). Bring your own cooler (which may include beer or wine from what I have seen in past years ). In addition, the 928OC has supplied some give-aways for our group. This event is sponsored by the 928 Owner's Club.
Rick and I will get there around 9:00 am or so on Saturday morning (the 21st), and start the line - look for the 928 OC banner. Cars roll in thru the morning, but there may be a bit of a traffic jam if you come after 11 am. We park on the grass on the golf course. Go to the PVGP site to download a map of the layout (www.pvgp.org). There will be thousands of cars, so look for the Porsche group. Anyway, we'll line up so that we can get cool pics of the cars.
We can also do a get together for a bite to eat afterwards, if there is interest. For sure next year, we'll make this a bigger event, with a scheduled fun run.
Well, I think that's it for now. Call me (412-328-4740) or shoot me an email if you have any questions - can't wait to see the gang and the cars!

Awesome Dean, looking forward to it. If you are free, join the cnc this saturday morning oo, with a caravan over to Beaverrun to watch the early races there. We meet at Starbucks at 9 am at Robinson Towne Center. Then the group will caravan to Beaver. If we can't be at the OCIC, these things are the next best thing

ED,
This keeps being on my list of things to do "automotive related", but I haven't made it "all the way across the state" yet. Really hope to, but OCIC attendance this weekend, and upcoming travel for a month starting mid-august caused it to get "delayed" for at least another year. "Good Lord willin', and the Susquehanna don't rise", I'll get there sometime!
Hope you have a good turn out, and THANKS for organizing 928 folks.

This is dropping down the page pretty quick so I'll bump it back up.
I don't have anything more to add to what Ed said in the OP. But, I'm so glad Ed is back here and trying to get the 928 owners around the area motivated to gather again.
I was hoping that maybe some VA or MD owners could show up. How about it Kevin L!!

Bump - big day tomorrow and Sunday. If you are near, feeling blue for having missed the OCIC and not going to Hell (figuratively anyway), come on out for this gathering. Meeting on the lawn tomorrow morning from 9ish on. The whole event is a must for car guys and gals. Ours is a little part of that.
See you there.
See you there.

Cool. Would love to meet you Michael. Are you going to Frenzy? We'll likely go there too in Sept/Oct (whenever it is)
