About 7 years ago i swapped over Autothority chips into my two 1987 brains...now, i need to swap in the chips included in Murf's SC kit...i assumed i would just have a look in there and remember how i pulled those two boxes out before....WRONG.....i dont want to start loosening stuff i dont need to....i checked Pirtle's list and have checked a few others but cant see any pics on removing those boxes....can anyone point me in the right direction?...i know with the autothority chips they came with pics and directions on how to get them out but cant find them in my boxes.
Very close to firing this puppy up!

Sorry for the OT, but did the Autothority chips actually do anything in your '87? I've heard mixed reviews.

One source of instructions would be the instruction manual for a shark tuner:

http://www.jdsporsche.com/faqs/User%...0EZK%20211.pdf

Open/read with caution, you might find it next on your must have list.

Yah, i definitely felt the car just ran better....idle was rock solid at 800, and seat of the pants felt better with the chips....i think its a subjective topic and everyone has an opinion but i never regretting putting the Autothority chips in.....thanks for the responses on the brains....that shark tuner download is massive and locks me up when i try and browse it.......i have the Murf instructions but they dont do detail on getting the boxes out....i'll call Tim later on and he can walk me through. I just thought there might be some pics of the take-out proceedure...i have the full workshop manuals and cant find it there either
Soupcan.....interesting looking setup with the N2O....with intercooling that must be a beast!

Actually, I just found out that my GT also has such chips in the LH unit.

Let's say I am not planning to sharktune my GT. Does it really make sense to have such chips in the car? What is the evidence that these are better than stock chips?

I did notice on their website they at least have chips for different models. Is the upgrade more or less effective for a GT vs. say an S4?
